Q: Do you offer same-day delivery or pickup?

A: No. All orders as of now, due to very high demand, have a lead time of 1-3 days depending on the product(1 for donuts, 2-3 for cakes). As we scale up over the next month, this should drop to having same-day pickup/delivery available. Thank you for your patience!

 

Q: Do you have a storefront?

A: We do not yet have a customer-facing storefront, so we sadly cannot host you in-store yet. Stay tuned to our social media for updates on that front, as we are scheduled to open a food truck by next summer. As of now, we offer free meetup-pickup and contactless pickup, and we can deliver or mail to limited places in/around Grand Rapids for a fee.

 

Q: Are you a 100% dairy-free and livestock-free bakery?

A: Yes, all goods we sell are made in a dedicated dairy-free and livestock-free kitchen used for only our baked goods and not shared with any other businesses.

 

Q: Do you offer coupons or a loyalty program?

A: Yes and yes. We give loyalty rewards and coupons to every customer, and we offer 15% off your first order with the code FIRST15. We also have a referral program where you can get much bigger discounts for referring a certain amount of people. We also have a UGC program where you can get 100% free baked goods in return for making content with reviews and sharing/posting them. Email us if you are interested!

 

Q: Why don't you offer curbside pickup at the kitchen?

A: Our cow-free specialized cottage kitchen is in an area in the outskirts of Grand Rapids which is hard for people of Grand Rapids proper to get to and there is no sufficient nearby parking. We believe it's better to meet up in a public place for pickup as is done on Facebook Marketplace(we're on there!) and by many farm CSAs, or to mail/deliver the goods through a trustworthy delivery service. We do not yet have a customer-facing storefront, so we sadly cannot host you in-store yet. Stay tuned to our social media for updates on that front, as we are scheduled to open a kitchen by next summer where you can definitely pickup curbside in downtown Grand Rapids.

 

Q: Why aren't your prices cheaper?

A: Due to the extremely high quality of our specialized ingredients, such as non-GMO organic flours and gums, 100% natural AND organic plant-based food colorings, organic shortenings, organic vegan butters, dextrose(to avoid using fructose), organic powdered sugar in glazes, glass ingredient containers instead of plastic, anodized aluminum pans instead of nonstick coated, non-plastic baked good packaging, etc, and the small amounts we are able to obtain them in due to their relative rarity(we are currently networking with suppliers to get bigger amounts at a time), as well as labor time for staff to make the goods with painstaking attention to good food safety practices, our profit margins are razor-thin. Our passion is in baking and seeing customers enjoy the new delights we bring them based off our years of research and experimentation so that is not a problem for us. However, we cannot break even, improve our bakery for you, rent kitchen space, expand our product line, continue offering our current products, or streamline our processes further without having a profit margin of at least 4%. We hope that the value our unique baked goods bring you far exceeds their price. We price them as low as possible as we want to bring this dairy-free joy we've experienced to as many people as possible without driving them off because of high prices or "brand name status" as some companies do. 

 

Q: How do you make sure that your dairy-free goods have a fluffy texture unlike other ones?

A: We have put nearly a decade of research, experimentation, and principles of food science into ensuring the best texture for our baked goods. We have never settled for a texture that is less than perfect. Our food testers and staff are people who are very sensitive to texture and can only enjoy eating dairy-free goods with fluffy, non-gritty, non-dense texture, and this has helped us to perfect our texture as we never could settle for less. We are more than happy to send you a free sample so you can see for yourself how our goods are indistinguishable and/or better than the texture of goods made with lactose, whey and casein.

 

Q: Is it good to avoid dairy even if you are not dairy-intolerant?

A: It certainly can be, according to many integrative health practitioners. According to them, some people's guts are sensitive to casein yet they do not feel the symptoms of it, and avoiding casein could reduce inflammation for them. Also, some rare people are highly susceptible to prion disease genetically(such as one of our head bakers) and avoiding dairy products is one way to avoid potential prion exposure. This is a topic that is very interesting to research and definitely deserves more focus!

 

Q: Give examples of what your bakery does to be health- and eco-conscious.

A: All our goods are made in a dedicated GF kitchen used for only our baked goods and not shared with any other businesses. We use PFOA-free certified parchment paper and cupcake cups only. We use stainless steel cake pans and glass mixing bowls only. No leaching aluminum , no melamine, and no toxic parchment paper. We never use saran/plastic wrap or any plastic packaging. We use bio-cellophane or kraft paper for packaging goodies.

We uphold the most stringent standards of food safety and avoiding toxins and germs. Cakes are never touched or decorated with bare hands. We are passionate about using only the highest quality ingredients and equipment which we would be pleased for ourselves and our families to eat/use at home.

Q: Are all your gluten-free flours non-GMO?

A: Yes. We are extremely careful to use only non-GMO gluten-free flours.



Q: How long does it take to receive my order?

Q: Do you do custom cakes?


A: We do not do custom design requests or writing on cakes. We are a bakery where you get to grab affordably luxurious vegan treats freshly made that day or the next day for lunch, dinner, an event, or a party. We don't believe it's good food safety practice to let cakes sit out for hours upon hours as often happens with wedding cakes as they are decorated, and that is another reason we do not do cakes which would require this amount of time left out. However, you can always request simple things like extra sprinkles, extra or less frosting, and other things which don't change the style of the cake and donut designs that we do offer.

 

 

 

Q: What are some benefits of being dairy-free?

A: Less exposure to casein, lactose, prions, inflammatory effects of milk, avian flu virus fragments and more that you can read about from specialists. As well as not encouraging the large-scale dairy industry which often mistreats cows.
